Meet the Owner

John set up and headed a specialist Financial Lines division at a Listed Insurance Brokerage before founding Southern Cross Risk Management in 2003. He is a Chartered Secretary (Int) by qualification and holds a higher diploma in corporate governance. John is Director of governance on the board of Seeds of Africa, a non-profit focused on social and enterprise development within disadvantaged communities. He is currently Chairman on a number of financial service company boards where his experience on best practice and strategic direction is relied upon. In his spare time John crafts (and tastes) his own gin at his Rnew Estate based Dam Fine Distillery on the banks of the Vaal dam where he also partakes in some pleasure yachting and boating.
